Kyoto protocol to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change

The Kyoto Protocol is an international treaty on greenhouse gases emissions limitations. Protocol is a supplementary document to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change and commits developed countries and countries with transition economies to reduce or stabilize greenhouse gas emissions in 2008-2012 to 1990 levels. Protocol was adopted in 1997 and entered into force in 2005.
